HON GUIDE TO MALLORCA
We have been lucky enough to go to Mallorca many times and still have a never ending list of things we want to check out. The island truly has something for everyone. Adventure, shopping, dining and some of the most amazing views in the Mediterranean.

STAY
There is no shortage of amazing places to stay in Mallorca. If you are staying for more than 4 nights I would recommend booking two spots and splitting your time. Mallorca has so much to offer and the landscape is so vastly different on every end of the island. I would stay a few nights in Palma (the main city with lots of shopping and restaurants) and then change scenery and stay on the water in Soller or in Deia. Make sure you rent a car because the day trips and views are one of the best parts!

DO
Road trip! Make sure you rent a car because the day trips and views are one of the best parts! There's a drive from the southwest end of the island all the way up through the tippy top at Formentor that is one of the most beautiful drives in the world. We make a day of it and stop at little towns around the way and grab lunch. Towns I recommend checking out:
- Andratx
- Valldemossa
- Pollenca
- Deia
- Fornalutx
Rent a boat/glorified dingy and hit the water. This was so much fun that we ended up doing it twice! The views along the island are spectacular. There are caves you can go in and hidden beaches to explore. You can of course charter a boat but we opted to putter around ourselves in the little boats they rent out in most of the coastal towns. We started in Soller and booked in advance to be safe - we used MaksyBoats. They provided snorkel gear and coolers so all you need to do is pack some food, drinks and a towel! One day we took the boat to a restaurant for lunch that was only accessible by boat or a hike which I highly recommend (details below).
Mercat de Vell de Consell - the weekly flea market that happens every Sunday. Vendors are set up along the road and there are some permanent shops there as well - expect a little bit of everything like any flea but absolutely worth the trip!
Vino! Binissalem is a lovely wine area in Mallorca. We booked a tour several years ago with Mallorca Wine Tours which ended on our guide's family vineyard with dinner. It was incredible.
DINE
Some of the best meals I have ever had are in Mallorca. These are some of the ones I wouldn't miss and I would always make reservations to be safe.
- Ca’s Patro Marce - literally on top of the water in Deia, this spot is super busy so make reservations. The freshest seafood around. Cafe Unido Casco Viejo.
- Sa Foradada - mentioned above, they are known for their paella that they cook over an open flame. The restaurant is only accessible by boat where you can tie up and swim or hike down. We rented a boat from Soller and were there in no time!
- Bens d’Avall - intimate place with an amazing tasting menu and incredible views.
- Cap Rocat - the hotel's restaurant on the water is so good and near Palma.
- Can Pedro - authentic Mallorcan food - make sure you book the rooftop!
- Rocamar - located in the Andratx port near the end of the line of waterfront restaurants. Great lobster paella and fish! Stop by Tim’s for a drink after dinner and they may have a band playing from the terraces.
- Flanigan's - located in Puerto Portals another great restaurant and great view but you have to order the Tarte Tatin at the end of your meal.
- Mercat de l'Olivar - great food market in the heart of Palma where you can also grab tapas!
SHOP
Palma: just get lost wandering the streets here and be sure to check out the cathedral too. Here are some of my favorites but you could spend days shopping in Palma!
- Dusty Deco - the most insanely cool design store that's set up like an apartment
- Estepajoana Tienda Vintage Palma - cool vintage shop specializing in the 1950s
- TerraCuita - great ceramics
- Rialto Living - an amazing concept shop
- Gordiola - amazing glass shop but if you have time you have to check out their workshop that is inside a castle!
- Petit Bumbo - Spain has some of the best kids shopping and this shop is my fav!
- Pe and Clo - another great kids shop not far from the above
- AlpargaterÃa La Concepción - Mallorcan espadrilles
Glass studios you need to check out:
