Details: The age old technique of these colorful, intricately embroidered molas have been passed down through generations by the ladies of the Kuna community in Panama. They can illustrate memories, dreams or experiences and are made from multiple layers of colored fabric sewn together and cut intricately to expose different layers and eventually the overall design. Traditionally used as clothing we think of them as art - with each piece being one of a kind and taking anywhere from a week to months to complete, we think they are more than deserving to be framed and on display!
HON Styling Tip: Layer with other art on a console, paired with other molas as a gallery wall or one by itself is sure to make an impact anywhere in your home!
